Secure Payments India
Stop losing money to online fraud. GuardPe facilitates secure transactions — payment is held via our regulated banking partner and released only after you confirm delivery.
What makes a payment secure?
Most online payments in India are not secure. You send money and hope the other party delivers. There is no guarantee, no protection, no recourse.
A truly secure payment has three properties:
- 1
Neither party can take the money unilaterally
The buyer cannot reverse the payment arbitrarily. The seller cannot take it before delivering. A neutral party holds it.
- 2
Release conditions are clear and verifiable
The buyer approves delivery. Both parties can see the status. There is no ambiguity about when funds are released.
- 3
Disputes are resolved fairly
If something goes wrong, an independent team reviews the evidence and makes a fair decision.
GuardPe delivers all three.
Risks of unsecured payments
These are the most common ways people lose money on online transactions in India:
Advance payment fraud
Seller takes money and disappears. Extremely common in India for freelance and product orders.
Fake delivery claims
Seller claims delivery but ships nothing or the wrong item. Buyer cannot prove this after paying.
Non-payment to sellers
Buyer receives the work or product and refuses to pay. Seller has no recourse.
Chargeback abuse
Buyer makes a payment and then raises a chargeback with the bank after receiving goods.
Escrow eliminates all of these risks. The money cannot move until conditions are met.
How GuardPe makes payments secure
Every payment on GuardPe has six layers of protection:
Escrow holding
Money is held in a ring-fenced account by Cashfree. Not accessible to the seller until conditions are met.
RBI-licensed infrastructure
Cashfree is an RBI-licensed payment aggregator. Funds are held under regulatory oversight.
Full transaction transparency
Both parties see every step — payment, delivery, approval. Nothing happens without a record.
Instant release on approval
When the buyer approves, the seller receives funds within minutes — no delays, no friction.
KYC-verified sellers
Sellers must verify their identity with PAN and bank account. Anonymous fraud sellers cannot operate.
Dispute protection
Either party can raise a dispute. Evidence is reviewed and a fair resolution is issued within 72 hours.
Common questions about secure payments
What makes a payment secure?
A payment is secure when the money cannot be taken by either party until the agreed conditions are met. Escrow accounts do this — the funds are held by a neutral third party (Cashfree, RBI-licensed) and released only when the buyer confirms delivery.
How does GuardPe secure my payment?
When you pay through GuardPe, your money goes into an escrow account held by Cashfree, not the seller. The seller only receives it after you approve the delivery. If anything goes wrong, you can raise a dispute and get a refund.
Is UPI payment safe on GuardPe?
Yes. GuardPe uses Cashfree's payment infrastructure, which is PCI-DSS compliant. UPI payments are processed through official bank channels. Your VPA and bank details are never shared with the seller.
What if I pay but the seller disappears?
Because the seller never receives the money directly, they cannot disappear with it. The funds remain in escrow. You can raise a dispute and receive a full refund.
Can the seller access my payment before I approve?
No. This is the core principle of escrow. The seller cannot access the funds until you explicitly approve the delivery or the auto-release timer expires (7 days).
How are my bank details protected?
Bank account numbers are encrypted with AES-256 before being stored. GuardPe never stores card details. All API calls use HTTPS with TLS 1.3.
